Green fruit and slightly rough skin, which changes smooth and yellowish when ripe; the shape varies from oval to almost round, passing through intermediate states. Its pulp is fine-grained pale greenish color, moderate acidity and aromatic. It does not have internal seeds.
Use and application
The fresh juice of the lion has a great diversity of uses, It is used to season dierent cuisine dishes, in the preparation of meat and seafood, preparation of drink cold, as a mixture for alcoholic drinks, preparation of cakes, jams, jellies, sorbets among others, as well as for the preservation of food. From the shell it extracts essential oil and the pulp is used for food of livestock. It has numerous medicinal properties and is good melliferous plant.
