The gulupa is a promising and appetizing fruit tree due to its organoleptic characteristics of flavor and aroma (it is sweeter than passion fruit), which is why it is very desirable for consumption fresh, in juice or salads (without removing the seeds) and the pulp sifted can be used to make jellies, jams, sauces, cocktails and ice cream. The juice of the leaves and especially the fruit contains alkaloids that lower blood pressure, have antispasmodic and sedative action, so these leaves would have a potential as raw material for obtaining
medicines.
